Impact:

Sapan Studio is a boutique film and television company focusing on independent features, documentaries, television and social media. In its first year, in partnership with IFC Films, the Studio worked on two of the year’s most acclaimed films: “The Taste of Things,” a feature starring Juliet Binoche which earned Tràn Anh Hùng Best Director honors at the Cannes Film Fest, and “The Disappearance of Shere Hite,” a documentary about the mysterious life of the groundbreaking sex researcher.

• Distributed six independent films in partnership with IFC Films under a two-year multimillion-dollar deal; reviewed scripts, met with writers and producers in development, designed pitch decks, organized premieres, attended film festivals, and tracked box office sales.
• Co-produced the Museum of the Moving Image’s ‘Marvels of Media’ – a film festival dedicated to celebrating the work of neurodiverse media makers. Opening night was attended by 400+ people with press coverage by The Hollywood Reporter, The New York Times, and Deadline.
• Co-produced two events with WNYC’s The Greene Space: ‘Truth, Lies, & AI: Election 2024’ and ‘The Third Act with Josh Sapan.’
